Ransomware remains the most destructive cybercrime threat in Australia due to its significant financial and reputational costs.
To help combat that, the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ASCS) has released a service that provides an all-in-one platform that your organisation can use to assess and improve your cyber security practices in your own time, in a safe environment, and as many times as you want.
It's called Exercise in a Box and helps you measure if your business is ready for a cyber incident.
Last year, the ACSC saw an increase in the number and sophistication of cyber threats facing Australia.
The Australian Cyber Security Hotline received over 25,000 calls during the last financial year, an average of 69 per day and an increase of 15% from the previous financial year.
The ACSC also received over 76,000 cybercrime reports, an increase of almost 13% from the previous financial year.
Exercise in a Box works by taking a small group of your key staff through a series of structured questions relating to an area of cyber security.
By completing the exercises, you will understand the risks your organisation is currently exposed to, and what you can do to help mitigate them.
Members of the Cyber Heroes community are actively encouraged to use this tool as it all helps to strengthen ways they can better protect their people, profits, and reputation from the ever-present threat of cyber thieves.
